With a 30-hour interdisciplinary curriculum meeting the rigorous standards of the Sport Management Program Review Council (SMPRC), the program includes courses in event management, sport administration, marketing, public relations, sales, finance, accounting, ethics, and facility management. Focused on facilitating mastery of knowledge as well as the development of behaviors, skills, attitudes, and abilities reflecting expertise in the sports industry, the M.S. in Health and Human Performance program offers a Concentration in Sport Management will build the foundation necessary to successfully assume leadership roles. Featuring a research-oriented approach in conjunction with the on-campus Human Performance Laboratory, the program enables students to gain hands-on experience in school systems, recreational agencies, sports medicine clinics, sports organizations, wellness centers, and fitness centers. In order to complete the 30-credit program, students must pass a comprehensive examination, complete a master’s thesis project, and participate in a semester-long internship.
