Bachelor of Education in Sport Management

The B.Ed. in Sport Management prepares individuals for many different careers in the sports industry, such as sports teams and leagues, college athletic departments, amateur sport organizations, and companies focusing on sport marketing, facility management, and similar areas. The program features small class sizes for hands-on experiences and an experienced-based curriculum to prepare students to become leaders in the field. The degree requires 39 credits in sports management courses. Examples of courses include sport and activity in a diverse society, sport and fitness in the digital age, sport facility management, psycho-social aspects of sport and exercise, administration of sport, sport sponsorship and promotions, and ethical and legal aspects of sports. Master of Arts in Sport and Athletic Administration

The MA in sport and athletic administration strives to empower students for sports administration careers by offering excellent education in the Jesuit Catholic humanistic tradition. The curriculum is interdisciplinary, with a solid liberal arts foundation that examines educational and organizational theory studies. The program is offered online and it only accepts between 20 to 25 students annually to enable close interaction among instructors and students. Students must also complete an internship component and a capstone experience.

College of Education

The thesis option requires students to complete a four-credit thesis course. The non-thesis option requires students to complete additional study in special topics or a comprehensive examination.
