The school’s home was originally in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area in Brooklyn, but it was relocated to Queens in the 1950s. To gain acceptance, students must demonstrate having earned a bachelor’s degree, as well as submit two letters of recommendation and a resume. School of Business

St. Thomas Aquinas College was founded in 1952 by a Roman Catholic group known as the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill. Located in Rockland County, the college sits on a 48-acre campus and offers classes to around 2,400 students. The school’s name comes from a medieval saint named Thomas Aquinas, who was a theologian and philosopher. State University of New York, Canton

School of Science, Health, & Criminal Justice

Established in 1906, SUNY Canton sits along the Grasse River in Canton, which is in St. Lawrence County. State University of New York, Cortland

College of Professional Studies

Often called Cortland State by locals, SUNY Cortland has been ranked by Kiplinger’s as one of the 100 best values in a list of public colleges and universities. Founded in 1868, the school was once known as Cortland Normal School and would become part of the state university system in 1948. SUNY at Fredonia

School of Business

As part of the State University of New York system, SUNY at Fredonia has around 5,100 students attending at the undergraduate level and about 300 students attending graduate school. The college started out in 1826 as a youth academy, but the school had some financial issues early in its history and would eventually transform into a Normal School. The school went through a variety of ups and downs in its history and would be brought into the CUNY system in 1948 alongside several other New York independent colleges. Syracuse University

David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics

Syracuse University was once a seminary that was founded by the Methodist Episcopal Church. One of the graduates of that early seminary was named Henry Jarvis Raymond, and he eventually went on to found “The New York Times.” Today, the college is considered nonsectarian although it does maintain a connection with the United Methodist Church. The school has an impressively sized student body of more than 21,000 undergraduate and graduate level students. The campus is located in Syracuse and covers around 630 acres.
