Dedicated to Proverbs 16:3, the College of Business & Sport Professions grants the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management for North Greenville University undergrads to develop leadership traits and values for today’s $620 billion global athletics market. Chaired by Dr. Jeff Briggs, the 120-credit, COSMA-accredited degree brings together faculty with 159 combined years of experience at an engaging 14:1 student-mentor ratio. Christ-centered administrative prep is customized in three concentrations: Business, Coaching, and Ministry. Eight terms are filled with daytime Tigerville courses, including Event Fundraising, Sport Marketing, Media Technology, and Wellness Program Development, until senior projects. NGU study sometimes continues into the 36-credit Online Master of Business Administration headed by Dr. Tracy Kramer, which has fast eight-week sessions like Organizational Behavior. Other graduates have advanced at Clemson, Florida State, Charleston Southern, Anderson, and more.

Perfectly situated 17 miles north of Forbes’ 61st best city for careers, North Greenville University requires 640-hour internships for 16 hours each week at field locations. Potential B.S. in Sport Management placements include the Greenville Drive, Charlotte Metro YMCA, Charleston Battery, Columbia Fireflies, Florence Red Wolves, Spartanburg County Parks & Rec, Upward Sports, and Missionary Athletes International. On-site, Crusaders gain experience with 16 NCAA Division II teams in Conference Carolinas. Students work firsthand in Hayes Gymnasium, Pepsi Stadium, Dillard Field at Ashmore Park, and Vance Complex. Campus organizations like the Brothers & Sisters Fellowship, Phi Beta Lambda, Adventure Club, Marching Band, Student Marketing Association, and Volleyball Club are welcoming. Undergrads might also utilize the Kelly Strength & Conditioning Center, worship in Turner Chapel, run Elith Prospect Camp, study abroad in Honduras, receive ICF Certification, and attend the Business Succession Planning workshop.

About North Greenville University

North Greenville University was opened in 1893 as North Greenville High School after the local Baptist Association chapter bestowed 10 acres by Paris Mountain to Benjamin Neves. In 1915, it became North Greenville Baptist Academy when the South Carolina Home Mission Board assumed control. Nineteen years later, it expanded into higher education for two-year associate degrees. First accredited in 1957, North Greenville University adopted its current name in 1994 when the Bachelor of Science began. In 2005, NGU erected the 3,500-seat Melvin and Dollie Younts Football Stadium. By 2011, North Greenville had made history with its seventh NCCAA men’s tennis national championship. Endowed for $28.4 million, the “All Steinway School” now educates 2,319 Crusaders, including B.S. in Sport Management majors, in Tigerville. North Greenville University Accreditation Details

In January 2020, North Greenville University will begin the next 10-year institutional effectiveness review by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to renew the Level V accreditation. This legitimate 11-state Deep South accreditor is authorized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to evaluate the academic quality of NGU’s 36 baccalaureate, six adult, six master’s, and two doctoral offerings. Particularly, the College of Business & Sport Professions is one of 230+ approved members of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). The B.S. in Sport Management was “Accredited with Notes” by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) in February 2017, too.

North Greenville University Application Requirements

Admission to North Greenville University is classified “minimally difficult” on Peterson’s though only 1,019 of the 1,701 Fall 2017 candidates were triumphant for 59 percent entrance. First-year Crusaders fighting for Bachelor of Science in Sport Management spots must graduate from licensed high schools. Abiding 16-unit college-prep curriculum with four years of English and three years of Math is preferred. Achieving at least 145 on the GED or 500 on the TASC tests would also qualify. Dual enrollment is reserved for seniors age 16 or older with minimum 3.0 GPAs. On average, freshmen record 3.5 GPA, 1180 SAT, and 24 ACT marks. College of Business transfers must hold 12+ non-remedial credits from regionally accredited schools. International credits via the World Education Services are acceptable if paired with TOEFL iBT scores above 70.

North Greenville University has open undergrad enrollment, so hopeful B.S. in Sport Management majors register until the first day of class. For 2018-19, North Greenville University is charging full-time B.S. in Sport Management students $9,875 per term or $19,750 annually. Studying part-time incurs $480 per credit. Summer Session courses are the exception at $395 per credit. Budgets include the $75 laboratory fee, $65 parking fee, $240 independent study fee, and $240 course auditing fee. Living at the Tigersville campus’ dorms like Vandiver Hall adds $2,450 for semester housing. Standard meal plans for Todd Dining Hall cost $2,670 by term.
