MBA Sports Business Track

Oregon’s MBA program offers a Sports Business Track designed to train tomorrow’s leading sports executives with the essential knowledge, skills, and credentials to positively shape the future of spectator sports. The contextual, 56-credit curriculum builds on a broad business core to master foundational topics like sports marketing, sports finance, sports sponsorship, sport product management, and sports law. Students benefit from experiential learning with industry consulting projects, facilitated internships, and a vibrant sports business speaker series. Study trips are arranged yearly to New York, San Francisco, and Asia. For 13 straight years, MBA students have provided financial analysis for ESPN’s Ultimate Standings too.

University of Western States

College of Graduate and Professional Studies

Located on a wooded 22-acre suburban campus in Northeast Portland just outside the state’s largest city, the University of Western States is a small private non-profit health sciences institution and chiropractic college serving around 475 students. First established in 1904, UWS is well-known for being the first chiropractic college to receive federal research funding through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Its anatomy and physiology lab was lauded as the #1 facility of its kind nationwide by the Daily Journal of Commerce. In the College of Graduate and Professional Studies, students can select from five master’s programs ranging from sports medicine and performance psychology to sports administration.

M.A. Sports and Athletic Administration

Within the Exercise and Sports Science program, the M.A. Sports and Athletic Administration degree is available for UWS graduate students interested in building the knowledge and leadership capacity to pioneer positive changes in today’s competitive sports business. It’s ideal for individuals wishing to become athletic directors, team managers, sports agents, sports marketing managers, facility managers, and sports event planners. Coursework can be completed face-to-face in Portland or fully online from anywhere. The 32-credit curriculum will include courses on sports nutrition, sports psychology, positive coaching, exercise physiology, sports finance, facility management, and sports performance enhancement. Applicants must have an accredited bachelor’s degree and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Warner Pacific College

Department of Natural Sciences and Health

Affiliated with the Church of God, Warner Pacific College is a small private non-profit Christian liberal arts institution serving a close-knit community of over 1,300 students on a quaint 17-acre urban campus in Portland on the southern slope of Mount Tabor.
